Not usually. Most infections can be removed without reinstalling the operating system. If the system is too deeply compromised for a clean removal, we’ll tell you that upfront and discuss options. A reinstall is a last resort, not a first step.
If the infection returns after our removal, we investigate why — at no additional charge. If the same infection came back, something was missed and we fix it. If you got re-infected through the same method (opening a malicious attachment again, for example), we discuss how to prevent that.
